Piranha 3D might have not made a ton of money at the box office and will not be winning any Oscar awards, but Dimension Films have already been talking about a sequel . Piranha 3D is all about excessive gore, jiggly titties, fun cameos and mindless popcorn fun, that's what they promised and that's what you got. There is still no official details, but director Alexandre Aja said to publications was if a sequel is to take place, one of the many ideas would be; A huge even in Thailand with over 200,000 people taking mushrooms and partying on the beach during a full moon. That's just speculation, but if that were to happen, I'd be the first one cheering those nasty Piranha's as they wreak havoc on 200,000 bodies. I find it hard to believe that it could top the "Spring Break Massacre" from the first film, which in my mind is one of the bloodiest scene creations in the history of horror cinema.
Fangoria caught up with EW, who spoke with the producer Mark Canton, who had this to say:
"“We are thrilled that audiences are not just loving Piranha 3-D, but cheering for it. And it’s fantastic that so many critics are really getting the movie and recommending it. We can’t wait to get to work on the sequel.”
