AMC ready to launch 'THE WALKING DEAD'

AMC TV has announced that it will give 'THE WALKING DEAD' a go and is ready to shoot the pilot episode. The Walking Dead will be directed by Frank Darabont (The Mist) and the show itself is going to be a live-action program based on the acclaimed comic book series. Haven't read many of the comics, I would have to say, I'm like an egg frying on a skillet, my mind is oozing and brainstorming all over the place with this news. Horror fans it looks like we'll have another (Horror) type TV series on our hands, will it be as classic as the HISTORIC Twilight Zone? Only time will tell.

AMC has given greenlights to two drama pilots, "The Walking Dead" and "The Killing."

"The Walking Dead" is based on the graphic novel series about survivors of a zombie apocalypse by Robert Kirkman. Frank Darabont penned the adaptation and is on board to direct. Gale Anne Hurd of Valhalla Motion Pictures and David Alpert of Circle of Confusion will exec produce with Darabont.

"Walking Dead" revolves around a group of survivors, led by a police officer, who travel the country in search of a safe home.
